As we continue to address the needs of our members through the Five Channels of Engagement - Education, Career, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Lifestyle - we are looking to build on the success of the recently concluded 30th Annual Conference in Washington D.C. and Fall 2008 Chapter Leadership Retreat which we hosted.
It is our commitment to you to provide programs and events that are regularly scheduled and relevant. In exchange, your attendance and support of the programs and events is needed to have a strong, vibrant chapter.

The Fall 2008 Leadership Retreat was a tremendous success! There were over 125 people that came from all over the United States and from Toronto, Canada. Thank you to all of the members, voluntereers, businesses, and to the entire Valley of the Sun who made this weekend very special. We would also like to welcome our newest members who joined this weekend. During this weekend, the National Board of Directors met and Board Members from most of the 44 Chapters attednded.
General Meetings
The November General Membership Meeting was at Avnet’s Corporate Headquarters 2211 S. 47th Street , Phoenix, AZ on Tuesday November 18th.
We committed to having general membership meetings on the 3rd Tuesday for the fourth quarter of 2008. The location for the December meeting will be determined soon.
New Corporate Partner
The University of Phoenix agreed to have a more sustained relationship and became a Silver level Corporate Partner in addition to an Educational Partner.
The University of Phoenix sponsored the keynote speaker at the luncheon of the Fall 2008 Leadership Retreat. The agreement will also allow for future National Black MBA events to be held on University of Phoenix campuses in the Phoenix area.
The Phoenix Chapter of the National Black MBA Association will not be having its annual Kwanzaa event, however there is a Kwanzaa event being held December 13th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Home & Garden Expo Center, 1701 East Washington Street.
